What to Expect

What to Expect

What to Expect

Mindfulness meditation here is not about forcing the mind to be quiet or striving for a particular experience. Sessions are guided gently, with space for curiosity, rest, and reflection. You’ll be invited to notice what’s already present in your body and mind, at a pace that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Practices may include awareness of the breath, the body, emotions, or everyday experience, along with moments of silence and inquiry. After sessions, you will be provdied guided meditations to There is no expectation to share, perform, or “get it right.” You’re welcome to come exactly as you are.

Persistent pain and stress can take a toll on both body and mind. Our mindfulness-based sessions are designed to help you calm the nervous system, reduce the intensity of pain, and ease the stress that often comes with it. You’ll learn practical tools — like breathwork, body awareness, and guided meditation — to retrain your brain’s response to pain and build resilience.

Our mindfulness offerings are rooted in the practice of dāna, or generosity. Rather than setting a fixed price, these sessions are offered on a donation basis so that access is not determined by financial circumstance. This model reflects the understanding that mindfulness practice is something shared and sustained through community, care, and mutual respect.

You are invited to offer what feels appropriate to you, based on your experience of the practice and your current capacity. For some, that may be a modest contribution; for others, it may be more. What matters most is not the amount, but the intention to engage sincerely with the practice and to support its continuation. In this way, the value of mindfulness is not measured by cost, but by the meaning, clarity, and steadiness it brings into daily life.

How is this different than other physical therapy practices?

We don’t just chase symptoms, we help you understand them and find the root cause. Most PT clinics will give you a list of exercises, send you home, and hope for the best. At Mindful Motion, we slow things down. We start by listening to your story, digging into the “why” behind your pain, and creating a plan that works for your life.
